Technical Sales Engineer
Saint Paul, MN | Direct Hire | $95,000 - $125,000 and commission
Konik is partnering with an established industrial technology manufacturer seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to manage key customer relationships and drive business growth. This role blends technical expertise with consultative sales, supporting customers throughout the product lifecycle while serving as a key liaison between customers and internal engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation, experience supporting complex products, and the ability to translate customer needs into practical business and engineering solutions.
Technical Sales Engineer Responsibilities:
Manage strategic customer accounts and develop long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers
Partner with sales leadership to execute growth strategies, expand market opportunities, and support company revenue objectives.
Guide opportunities from quotation through production, implementation, ongoing support, and product lifecycle management.
Provide advanced technical application support for customers using complex mechanical, electrical, and software-based systems.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, service, and marketing teams to align customer requirements with business capabilities.
- Support product and parts costing activities while helping identify upgrade, replacement, and service opportunities within existing accounts.
- Gather customer and market feedback, communicating industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging needs to internal stakeholders.
Technical Sales Engineer Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or a customer-facing technical role.
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software-driven systems.
Business acumen with the ability to balance technical requirements and commercial objectives.
Experience managing multiple priorities, customer projects, and sales activities simultaneously.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel capabilities.
Ability to travel up to 25% as needed.
Preferred Experience:
Advanced degree such as an MBA or engineering-focused graduate degreee
7 years of technical sales, customer support, or applications engineering experience supporting technical products.
