Interior Designer
Minneapolis, MN | Contract-to-Hire | $30 -$43/ hr | On-Site
Konik is partnering with a commercial interiors and workplace solutions company seeking an experienced Interior Designer to join its team. This role combines workplace design, client interaction, field verification, and project coordination. The ideal candidate has an in-depth knowledge of systems furniture, is experience with space planning and developing practical furniture solutions for commercial projects, and is seasoned at working with clients, sales teams, and project stakeholders throughout the design process.
Interior Designer Responsibilities:
- Create furniture layouts, space plans, and design documentation using AutoCAD for commercial workplace environments.
- Collaborate with sales and project teams to develop furniture solutions that align with client requirements, budgets, and project objectives.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, finish selections, and furniture planning discussions.
- Conduct local site visits and field verification activities to confirm measurements, installation conditions, and project requirements.
- Develop specifications, furniture selections, renderings, and supporting documentation for proposals and installations.
- Manage design revisions, maintain project documentation, and ensure accuracy throughout project execution.
- Support installation planning and help resolve design-related issues during implementation as needed.
Interior Designer Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design
- 2 years of professional experience working in commercial design, preferably in a dealership or workplace solutions company
- Experience with systems furniture, workplace design, commercial interiors or a related furniture dealership environment.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and experience producing furniture layouts, space plans, and design documentation.
- Knowledge of systems furniture, workstation applications, seating, storage, and related workplace products.
- Ability to work directly with clients and present design concepts, recommendations, and product selections.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from concept through implementation.
