Job Overview
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our growing procurement team. In this vital role, you will be on-site, hands-on, and directly responsible for keeping our supply chain running smoothly, our vendors accountable, and our production line flowing. We are looking for a team player who can thrive under pressure, anticipate challenges before they happen, and move fast without sacrificing accuracy.
Job Duties
- Procure raw materials, components, and MRO supplies critical to daily manufacturing operations.
- Evaluate, negotiate with, and manage suppliers to ensure top-tier quality, pricing, and delivery.
- Monitor open orders, expedite when needed, and escalate risks or shortages to the Supply Chain Manager.
- Maintain accurate and timely PO records and documentation in the ERP system.
- Interpret engineering drawings and BOMs to anticipate procurement needs.
- Work cross-functionally with production, inventory, and accounting to ensure alignment and resolve any issues.
- Track vendor performance and look for continuous improvement opportunities in cost, delivery, and reliability.
- Schedule inbound freight to align with production and receiving needs, while ensuring freight costs stay within budgeted limits.
- Build strong vendor relationships that reflect our core values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years experience in related field
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems
- Strong communication, negotiation, and vendor management skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office software
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOM's (Bill of Materials)
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain logistics
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
