JOB DESCRIPTION
Buyer performs various purchasing functions within the Topp’s Sports and Entertainment Procurement business unit. This position is expected to own all areas related to the assigned product including but not limited to attending “walk throughs”, reviewing forecasts, reconciling raw material inventory, issuing purchase orders, processing invoices for payment, arranging and expediting shipments, collaborating with departments to find efficiencies, and acting as liaison between vendor and internal customer.

Fanatics Collectibles is a new model and vision for the hobby, fundamentally changing the experience for current and future collectors, leagues, and players across many U.S. and international professional and college sports. The organization has long-term, exclusive rights to design, manufacture and distribute trading cards for several sports and entertainment properties, including MLB, MLBPA, the Premier League, MLS, UFC, Formula 1 as well as Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars, among others. In January 2022, Fanatics Collectibles announced the acquisition of Topps, establishing the preeminent licensed trading card brand as the cornerstone of Fanatics’ trading cards and collectibles business, and jumpstarted its MLB and MLBPA rights to design, manufacture and distribute trading cards

This position is expected to own all areas related to the assigned product including but not limited to attending “walk throughs”, reviewing forecasts, reconciling raw material inventory, issuing purchase orders, processing invoices for payment, arranging and expediting shipments, collaborating with departments to find efficiencies, and acting as liaison between vendor and internal customer.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Prepare purchase orders for services and materials
- Source new vendors based on internal customer specifications
- Ensure accurate and timely invoice processing
- Maintain costing file for assigned projects
- Initiate RFQ’s against assigned products
- Work with Product Management to ensure GIH dates are accurate and achieved
- Coordinate sample approvals for review
- Clarify specification and production concerns with vendor
- Track vendor performance and report metrics for improvement
- Maintain purchasing records and supplier contact database
- Create analytical reports as requested
- Track/Expedite shipments
- Crosstrain within other department functions
- Assist in on boarding new suppliers
- Coordinate CPSIA testing on required items
- Advanced level Excel skills are a MUST, Airtable experience a plus
- 3 to 5 years related work experience
- Navigate through both conflict and problem resolution
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Experience with Oracle a plus
- Ability to track and follow up on multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication, decision-making and organizational skills
- Proactive thinking and problem solving
- Ability to work independently while supporting a team located in various sites
