Position: Payments Engineer
Location: Denver, Hybrid (4 days in office)

Our client is a high-growth fintech infrastructure startup building global payment and account rails for cross-border transactions. Backed by leading investors, the business has raised $13M to date, is preparing for Series A, and is experiencing rapid month-over-month growth.
They are looking to hire a Forward Deployed Engineer to work closely with customers, product, and engineering teams to build and implement scalable technical solutions in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.
Responsibilities:
- Build and deploy scalable full stack and backend solutions for customer payment infrastructure use cases
- Work directly with customers to understand requirements and implement tailored solutions
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to influence platform development
- Design and maintain complex asynchronous systems and integrations
- Operate autonomously in a fast-moving startup environment
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in full stack or backend engineering
- Strong experience with complex distributed or asynchronous systems
- Background within fintech, payments, infrastructure, or stablecoin environments
- Hands-on experience with payment processors or acquirers such as Adyen, Checkout.com, Worldpay, Fiserv, or Braintree
- Strong experience with TypeScript / Node.js, React, and Postgres
- Understanding of PCI DSS, tokenization, and secure payment architecture
- Previous startup experience preferred
