Process Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the Process Engineer (PE) position in Hillsboro, OR.

The Process Engineer (PE) will need excellent interpersonal communication skills to work with our customer and parent company’s equipment and process engineers. The engineer’s goal will be to install and sustain equipment process performance at factory specification. This includes troubleshooting process-related manufacturing defects and working directly with customers to keep manufacturing lines stable and within control limits. This position may require travel to resolve equipment issues, attend technical conferences, or additional training.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Process Qualification: Perform Process qualifications (T2) using the various PFC documentation for each toolset, T2 tasks on semiconductor equipment at varying levels of complexity.
• Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with customers, colleagues, and management to report progress and issues. Collect and retain all data for Installation, and submit all completed documents at the completion of each Project.
• Sustain fleetwide process performance within factory specification using SPC and analytical methods
• Work with customers to identify defects and mitigate risk to the manufacturing line
• Develops new or modified process formulations.
• Defines processing or handling equipment requirements and specifications.
• Reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of products. Involvement may begin at any step from pilot plant to full-scale manufacturing.
• Coordinates design requirement review with appropriate engineering/scientific personnel to ensure compatibility of processing methods.
• Compiles and evaluates test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications.
• May conceive and plan projects involving definition and selection of new concepts, equipment automation technology, and approaches in the processing or development of new or improved processes.
• Gathers, assesses, and communicates development strategies to support future customer development needs.
• Support new equipment and process development and implementation at customer development sites.
• Represent Kokusai position in user meetings to support equipment and process issues.
• Provide trouble shooting recommendations, and hands-on support when necessary.
• Review documentation to ensure accuracy and suggest improvements.
• Able to work effectively in a cleanroom environment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in related core sciences such as Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Semiconductor Manufacturing or equivalent education and work experience.

EXPERIENCE

• 2 years of hands-on equipment experience with Kokusai platform or 3 years of semiconductor equipment platform
• Experienced with LP-CVD, ALD, and/or Plasma Enhanced processes.
• 3 years of leadership experience with excellent communications skills
• Ability to create, modify, troubleshoot process recipes.
• Understanding of Semiconductor metrology and process data
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot process particle trends and issues.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot process film trends.
• Excellent verbal and written communication utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
• Able to create plans, prioritize technical engagements, and execute multi-step solutions
• Demonstrates high initiative and self-motivated (no supervision)
• Able to track/document process fingerprint.

The salary range offered ($80K to $149.5K) to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
