We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software and Firmware Quality Engineering Manager to lead and manage a team of 6 talented Software and Firmware QA Engineers. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the overall quality strategy, ensuring best-in-class software and firmware products, and fostering a high-performance team culture. You will report to the Head of Software Engineering and will work closely with cross-functional teams including Hardware Development, Product Management and GTM teams to ensure the entire development lifecycle takes a quality first approach.
This role reports to the Head of Software Engineering and is responsible for managing a team of 5 Software and Firmware Quality and Test Automation Engineers, while also performing hands-on technical work as required.
In your role as Software and Firmware Quality Engineering Manager Lead at Kohler Ventures you will:
- Work directly with the Head of Software, software/hardware engineering team, and product teams
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 6 Software and Firmware QA Engineers
- Define and drive quality assurance processes, standards, and best practices across software and firmware development cycles
- Oversee the deployment and integration of test automation into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Oversee the planning, development, and execution of test strategies, test plans, and test cases for both manual and automated testing
- Collaborate with Hardware development teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the SDLC
- Coordinate and prioritize testing activities to meet release schedules and project milestones
- Implement and monitor quality metrics and KPIs to assess product quality and team performance
- Identify and mitigate risks related to product quality and delivery timelines
- Advocate for continuous improvement in QA practices, tools, and methodologies
- Participate in release readiness reviews and Scrum meetings to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, estimates, or potential problems. and ensure all quality criteria are met before product launch
