Position Snapshot:
As a Mortgage Loan Originator at Kohler Credit Union, you'll be the primary point of contact for members throughout the mortgage journey-from the initial consultation to loan closing. You'll also network with realtors, builders, and insurance professionals to expand outreach and generate new leads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert mortgage guidance tailored to members' unique financial goals and homeownership plans.
- Oversee the full loan process, including collecting and reviewing documentation, submitting applications, and tracking progress.
- Build strong professional relationships with local real estate agents, contractors, and other partners to grow a steady referral base.
- Keep current on industry news, product updates, and regulatory changes, and share insights to support team knowledge and performance.
- Represent the credit union at community events such as homebuyer workshops and real estate open houses to strengthen local engagement.
- Support organizational objectives by contributing to cross-functional initiatives and consistently delivering excellent member service.
What You Bring to the Team:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending or origination (NMLS certification or willingness to obtain)
- Familiarity with various mortgage products, lending procedures, and compliance standards
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for building lasting relationships
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, with occasional evening or weekend community events.
