Casting Production Supervisor - 2nd & 3rd Shift

Position Summary
The Casting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing production operations, supervising employees, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring production goals and KPI targets are achieved. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills within a manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions
Production & Operations
- Review production jobs and schedules to determine product types, quantities, specifications, and operational requirements.
- Plan and coordinate production operations, priorities, and manufacturing sequences to meet production goals.
- Monitor production reports and resolve operational or maintenance issues to minimize downtime and costs.
- Manage all processes to KPI expectations and production needs.
- Coordinate with department managers to establish and maintain production schedules.
- Develop and implement new product launches in accordance with quality system standards.
- Document production performance and operational issues and communicate solutions across all levels of the organization.
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise production department employees and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Train employees by explaining product specifications, work methods, and production techniques.
- Monitor employee training progress, evaluate skill development, and provide coaching as needed.
- Initiate personnel actions including performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, promotions, transfers, and conflict resolution.
- Manage personnel records using HRIS, including PTO, attendance points, coaching documentation, and related employee data.
Safety & Quality
- Lead by example in maintaining all safe work practices and PPE requirements.
- Perform work in accordance with ISO9001 and IATF16949 standards.
- Conduct required audits including LPA, Safety, PPE, and related compliance audits.
- Inspect equipment and finished products to ensure operational performance and product quality standards are met.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen and 5S activities.
- Initiate and promote safety and workplace organization improvements.
Physical Requirements
- Requires constant physical activity throughout the shift, including:
- Standing
- Walking
- Bending
- Stooping
- Squatting
- Reaching
- Pushing/Pulling
- Lifting and carrying products up to 50 pounds
- Requires near and far vision capabilities.
- Must wear required PPE at all times.
- Exposure to temperature extremes in a manufacturing environment.
Qualification
Education
- Four-year degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in non-ferrous casting preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Computer and mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and non-ferrous metals preferred.
- Understanding of OSHA, EPA, and company safety regulations.
- Ability to enforce company policies and maintain a safe work environment.
