The Human Resources Recruiter is responsible for full-cycle recruiting and onboarding in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with supervisors and leadership to attract, evaluate, and hire qualified candidates for hourly and salaried positions while ensuring a positive candidate experience and compliance with all employment laws and company policies.
The HR Recruiter plays a critical role in workforce planning, reducing time-to-fill, and supporting retention through effective onboarding, training coordination, and employee engagement. This position also provides general HR support related to employee relations, performance management, and HR best practices.
Essential Functions
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried roles, including supervisors, engineers, and production team members.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, job requirements, and workforce planning strategies.
- Develop and maintain job postings across job boards, company website, and other recruiting platforms.
- Screen applicants, conduct and coordinate onsite interviews.
- Manage candidate pipeline and applicant tracking system (ATS) to ensure accurate and timely updates.
- Coordinate pre-employment processes including background checks, drug screening, and reference checks.
- Prepare and extend job offers in alignment with company guidelines.
- Facilitate new hire onboarding, including orientation, paperwork completion, and system setup.
- Ensure all onboarding documentation is completed accurately (I-9, W-4, policy acknowledgments, etc.).
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Support retention efforts by partnering with HR and leadership on turnover trends and hiring effectiveness.
- Assist with training coordination and follow-up for new hires and internal promotions.
- Maintain accurate employee records and generate reports from HRIS systems.
- Support ISO/IATF and continuous improvement initiatives as related to HR processes.
- Participate in HR projects, audits, and departmental initiatives.
Job Related Responsibilities
- Track and report recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, turnover, applicant flow, etc.).
- Coordinate with supervisors on staffing needs, scheduling interviews, and hiring decisions.
- Support employee relations matters including coaching, discipline, and terminations as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information.
- Assist with performance evaluation tracking and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with candidates, employees, and leadership at all levels.
- Promote a positive workplace culture through professional and timely interactions.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and PPE requirements within the facility.
- Support plant initiatives such as Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources
- 1-3 years of recruiting or HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
