Solutions Engineer

Position Overview

The Solutions Engineer (SE) – is responsible for owning the technical execution of security and low-voltage infrastructure projects from pre-deployment planning through post-installation support. This role acts as the primary technical resource for sales, project management, field teams, and customers, ensuring systems are properly designed, deployed, supported, and standardized across the organization.

Core Responsibilities

Technical Project Support & Execution

• Review and audit sales proposals for technical accuracy and feasibility
• Perform site walks with sales teams for new construction and retrofit projects
• Develop system deployment plans for Verkada security and structured cabling projects
• Program, configure, and commission systems prior to and during installation
• Support Project Managers and field teams to ensure successful project delivery
  
  

Service & Technical Support

• Serve as the primary technical escalation point for customer service requests and internal handoffs
• Diagnose and resolve security system, networking, and cabling-related issues
• Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting support as needed
• Conduct customer training sessions following system deployment
• Training & Team Development
• Develop and deliver in-house technical training for installation and support staff
• Track employee certifications and continuing education requirements
• Assist with onboarding and technical ramp-up for new technicians
  
  

Process Improvement & Standardization

• Establish standardized workflows and procedures for the Solutions Engineer role
• Create technical documentation and best practices for system deployment and service
• Identify opportunities to improve installation quality, service response time, and operational efficiency
  
  

Cross-Team Collaboration

• Work directly with the VP of Operations to align technical operations with company goals
• Coordinate with Project Managers on deployment readiness and system programming needs
• Support Sales teams with technical planning during pre-sale and project handoff phases
  
  

Expectations & Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in security systems
• Experience working with Verkada or similar enterprise security platforms
• Strong understanding of IP networking, PoE devices, switching, and structured cabling standards
• Proven ability to troubleshoot field installations and technical issues
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to interpret drawings, system layouts, and network diagrams
• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
• High attention to detail and technical quality standards
  
  

Travel & Work Requirements

• Travel required based on project needs
• Overnight travel may be required occasionally
• Weekend work is rare and typically limited to special projects or customer scheduling needs
