What You'll Do
- Diagnose, disassemble, repair, rebuild, and reassemble AC and DC electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, fans, and related rotating equipment
- Perform mechanical inspections and precision measurements using dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, vibration meters, and other specialized tools
- Conduct electrical testing and diagnostics using multimeters, meggers, surge testers, Baker testers, and related equipment
- Perform rotor and armature balancing as required
- Replace and repair bearings, seals, brushes, gears, shafts, and other mechanical components
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical failures efficiently
- Operate repair, testing, and lifting equipment, including overhead cranes and forklifts
- Accurately document repair findings, measurements, labor hours, and completed work
- Follow established quality standards, customer specifications, and safety procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support field service activities, including equipment installation, removal, and customer support when needed
- Assist with training and mentoring less experienced technicians
What We're Looking For
- 3 years of experience repairing electric motors, rotating equipment, industrial machinery, or related electro-mechanical systems preferred
- Experience with AC/DC motors, pumps, fans, compressors, gearboxes, or similar equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of electrical testing and motor diagnostics
- Ability to read technical drawings, repair specifications, and schematics
- Experience using precision measuring instruments and diagnostic equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license required
- Forklift, crane, or rigging experience is a plus
- Willingness to work overtime as business needs require
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday
- Comfortable working in an industrial shop environment around machinery and moving equipment
