Position Summary
HECO is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Electric Motor Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you'll work on a wide range of AC and DC electric motors up to 15,000 HP and 13,800V, supporting our mission to keep industrial operations running smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Dismantle, inspect, and reassemble AC and DC electric motors (up to 15,000 HP / 13,800V).
- Conduct detailed testing using tools such as:
- Meggers
- Low OHM Meters
- Micrometers
- Hi-Potential (HiPot) Testers
- Surge Comparison Testers
- Bar-to-Bar Testers
- AC/DC Test Panels
- Accurately document findings and measurements using tablet-based job tracking systems.
- Ensure all repairs meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with the Mechanic Team Leader and other departments to ensure timely, high-quality results.
- Previous experience with electric motor repair and testing (AC and DC systems preferred).
- Familiarity with precision measurement and electrical testing tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow documented processes and safety procedures.
