A global investment platform operating at the intersection of asset management and financial infrastructure is seeking a Chief Risk Officer to lead the buildout of its operational risk architecture as the business continues to scale across private markets strategies and global distribution channels.
This role is focused on strengthening second-line oversight across a multi-product alternatives platform, including governance around investment structures, platform workflows, and cross-jurisdiction operating environments. The position reports directly to the CFO and partners closely with executive leadership and the Board.
Responsibilities
Operational Risk & Platform Governance
- Lead the evolution of the firm’s operational risk framework across private markets investment structures and supporting platform infrastructure
- Establish governance across product lifecycle processes, service providers, and distribution channels
- Oversee enterprise risk assessments, control frameworks, and issue management programs
- Strengthen oversight across valuation, liquidity, and operational workflows supporting alternatives strategies
Enterprise Risk Leadership
- Define risk appetite structures and escalation protocols aligned with platform growth
- Deliver forward-looking risk insights to executive leadership and Board committees
- Support scaling governance across a technology-enabled investment platform operating across multiple jurisdictions
Regulatory & Global Expansion Support
- Partner with Legal and Compliance leadership on regulatory engagement across U.S. and international markets
- Support licensing and supervisory expectations across advisory, broker-dealer, and fund platform environments
- Guide governance frameworks supporting expansion into new investment structures and regions
Operational Resilience
- Oversee incident response, business continuity, and enterprise resilience frameworks
- Strengthen monitoring across critical services, third-party providers, and platform dependencies
Qualifications
- 15 years of leadership experience in operational risk, enterprise risk, or platform governance within asset management, alternatives platforms, wealth infrastructure, or financial technology environments
- Strong familiarity with private markets investment structures (e.g., private equity, private credit, real assets, or structured solutions)
- Experience building and scaling second-line operational risk frameworks in complex, multi-jurisdiction organizations
- Demonstrated engagement with executive leadership and Board-level governance committees
- Track record supporting growth across investment platforms or distribution infrastructure
Salary : $300,000 - $400,000
