Maintenance Technician II
Location: Pleasant Prairie, WI
Shift: 3rd Shift (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Pay Rate: $31.00 – $34.00/hr $1.50 Shift Differential
Position Overview
KLS is recruiting a high-level Maintenance Technician II for a premier manufacturing partner in Pleasant Prairie. This is a senior-level role focused on multi-craft equipment reliability, precision maintenance, and continuous process improvement. You will be a key driver in maintaining a "world-class" preventative maintenance program to ensure equipment remains in like-new condition.
The Path to Growth
Your starting rate is determined by a technical assessment:
Level II Technicians: Candidates who demonstrate senior-level mastery in our assessment will start at the higher end of the pay scale ($33.00–$34.00 ).
Level I Technicians: If the assessment identifies you as Level I, you will start at the lower end ($31.00 ) with a clear opportunity to promote to Level II and increase your pay once specific skill benchmarks are met.
Candidate Screening Requirements
To be considered for this role, You must meet the following criteria:
Interview Availability: Ability to complete a one-on-one phone screen with the Manager and attend a mandatory on-site interview if advanced.
Assessment: Willingness to complete a comprehensive 2 to 2.5-hour online Technical Assessment.
Detailed Experience: You must provide a list of specific products manufactured by your previous employers and the exact types of machinery you repaired (e.g., "Food Grade Packaging - repaired Bosch Bagging machines and Allen Bradley PLCs").
Hands-On History: Proven experience in a manufacturing environment involving physical equipment repair and troubleshooting (both mechanical and electrical).
Primary Responsibilities
Systematic Troubleshooting: Diagnose malfunctions in mechanical and electrical systems using logical, data-driven methodologies.
Electrical Maintenance: Install and repair wiring, conduits, and circuits using ohmmeters and voltmeters.
Mechanical Precision: Perform alignments on drive systems, execute major service overhauls, and manage machinery lubrication.
Data Integrity: Maintain accurate records via CMMS to establish historical trends and guide predictive maintenance.
Leadership: Mentor Level I technicians and operators on proper equipment service and condition monitoring.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in industrial manufacturing maintenance.
Technical Skills: Strong background in both Mechanical and Electrical systems; ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and OEM manuals.
Precision: Expertise in using shop equipment (drill press, band saw, power tools) and reading precision measuring devices.
Computer Literacy: Proficient in CMMS and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Education: High school diploma required; 2-year Technical Degree highly desired.
