Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (24/7 Operational Accountability)
Compensation: $145,000 – $160,000

Role Summary
KLS is recruiting a high-impact Nurse Manager of Behavioral Health for a premier medical facility in Brooklyn. This is a critical leadership role responsible for the 24-hour operational and clinical management of the psychiatric unit. You will bridge the gap between administrative strategy and frontline patient care, ensuring that all nursing philosophies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements are met with excellence.
Primary Responsibilities
Operational Leadership: Manage unit operations in collaboration with the Director, including budgeting, supply chain maintenance, and administrative nursing coverage.
Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure the unit meets all codes and regulations for OMH, NYSDOH, DOHMH, JCAHO, and ACS. Prepare statistical reports and data relative to clinical activities.
Performance Improvement: Coordinate interdisciplinary performance improvement activities, utilizing benchmarks and CQI models to enhance patient outcomes.
Clinical Oversight: Oversee patient care areas to ensure clinical needs and competencies are met; monitor admissions and discharges for appropriate clinical management.
Culture & Service: Drive HCAHPS development and maintain a positive public perception through professional interactions with patients, visitors, and staff.
Mandatory Requirements
Psychiatric Management: You must have a proven track record of managing a psychiatric unit within a hospital setting.
Experience: * Minimum 5 years as a Registered Nurse.
Minimum 5 years of clinical experience specifically in Psychiatry.
Minimum 2 years in a formal nursing leadership/supervisory role.
Licensure: Active NY State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and Crisis Management (PMCS, TRUST, or equivalent).
Pediatric Exposure: Previous experience (formal or informal) working with children ages 6 weeks to 6 years is required.
Skills & Education
Education: BSN required; Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
Technical Proficiency: Ability to fully utilize hospital electronic records (EHR) and billing systems; knowledge of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and CQI processes.
Leadership Qualities: Strong critical thinking, budgetary competence, and excellent oral/written communication skills.
