We are seeking Temporary Event Staffing Associates to support our signature seasonal events, including June Fest, Fishing & Paddle Sports events, Septemberfest, and the Holiday season. This role is ideal for energetic, customer-focused individuals who enjoy fast-paced retail environments and have a passion for the outdoors.
Position Summary
The Temporary Event Staffing Associate helps create an exceptional shopping experience during Kittery Trading Post’s busiest and most exciting promotional events. Associates will support sales floors, merchandise presentation, customer assistance, event setup, and general store operations to ensure every guest feels welcomed and supported.
This role requires a flexible schedule with strong weekend availability, as many event days take place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers and offering product guidance
- Support signature event activities and promotional floor setups
- Assist customers with product selection, questions, and recommendations
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked sales areas
- Replenish merchandise and assist with visual presentation standards
- Support event-specific departments such as fishing, paddle sports, camping, footwear, apparel, and general outdoor gear
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system as needed
- Help with event preparation, signage placement, and post-event breakdown
- Work collaboratively with full-time and seasonal teams to ensure smooth operations
- Uphold store standards for safety, cleanliness, and professionalism
- Represent the Kittery Trading Post brand with enthusiasm and pride
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Weekend availability is required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail and event environment
- Interest in or experience with outdoor activities such as fishing, paddling, camping, hunting, hiking, or general outdoor recreation preferred
- Retail, event, or customer-facing experience is a plus
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift merchandise as needed
- Dependable, punctual, and flexible during peak event periods
Pay: $15.10 - $18.00 per hour
