General Summary:
NICS Clerks are responsible for and assisting in the process of submitting NICS checks through regulated channels. You will work closely with the customers, firearms sales associates, departmental managers, and training coordinator to ensure accuracy in all stored files as a NICS Clerk. Data entry skills and confidentiality are a must. This position, NICS Clerk, is a customer facing position.
Qualified candidates must be available to work Mondays 9am-5pm, Tuesdays 9am-5pm, Wednesdays 9am-5pm, Thursdays 9:30am-5:30pm, and Sundays 9am-5pm.
Application Requirements & Essential Functions:
- Qualified NICS Clerk candidates must be able to pass a standard background check
- Strong computer skills; including a working knowledge of Microsoft programs
- Help customers understand and complete the Federal 4473 background check form
- Must be able to effectively communicate with customers, coworkers, and other business contacts
- An attention to detail is critical with a strong ability to multi-task
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of days, nights, and weekends as a NICS Clerks
