An established law firm serving California’s Central Coast, is seeking a Paralegal or Legal Secretary to support attorneys in Business and Real Estate, Estate Planning and Administration, and/or Civil Litigation. We are looking for an individual who thrives in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment and is committed to providing high-quality legal support to attorneys and exceptional service to clients. Strong communication, organizational, and technical skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Essential Forms, and time and billing/practice management systems. The compensation range is $20–$30 hourly, depending on experience, and includes eligibility for performance-based bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Legal Support: Assist attorneys with drafting and reviewing legal documents, preparing forms, and organizing case and matter files across business, estate planning, and litigation matters.
- Case and File Management: Manage caseloads efficiently under attorney supervision, ensuring deadlines are met and documents are accurately maintained.
- Client Communication: Serve as a point of contact for clients, gathering necessary information, answering procedural questions, and maintaining professional, empathetic communication.
- Administrative Support: Coordinate meetings, maintain task lists, and assist with matter tracking and billing entries.
- Collaboration and Team Support: Work closely with attorneys and staff to ensure timely completion of work, knowledge sharing, and support across departments.
- Document Preparation: Prepare, format, and proofread a wide variety of documents, including:
- Business & Real Estate: deeds, contracts, leases, and transactional paperwork.
- Estate Planning & Administration: trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and probate filings.
- Civil Litigation: pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial exhibits.

- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Essential Forms, and legal timekeeping or practice management software.
