Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys by conducting legal research, drafting documents, and managing case files. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently within a fast-paced environment. A background in family law is preferred, along with proficiency in legal research tools and document management systems.
- The applicant must be bilingual (English/Spanish), and be able to speak, read, and write in both languages.
- Experience as a legal assistant or paralegal is required.
- A major role of this position is to receive incoming communications. The person in this position will answer overflow incoming calls, and will need to take accurate notes and relay messages in a timely manner to the appropriate parties.
- Accurate scheduling of appointments and calendaring of legal events is paramount.
- Prospective applicants will prepare legal documents for the attorneys’ review, and will be responsible for the subsequent handling of these documents.
- Knowledge of how to process new client intakes, updating case statuses on Abacus, and maintaining both electronic and paper files is a must.
- An ideal candidate has a strong work ethic and organizational skills. They can work with minimal direction, are computer savvy, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and work well under pressure. The ability to work and integrate with our team is a necessity.
- It is important for the person in this position to have the ability to identify urgent tasks, and prioritize their time accordingly.
- The applying party must possess strong grammar, spelling, and proof-reading abilities. Accurate and rapid typing skills are required.
- This position interacts with clientele on a daily basis, and must possess excellent manners and decorum, as well as interpersonal and communication skills.
- The applicant must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Abacus, and Google Suite.
Pay is dependent on knowledge and experience.
