KIPP Atlanta Schools is part of the KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) national network, which operates free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory schools aimed at preparing students from underserved communities for success in college and beyond. Nationwide, there are 224 KIPP schools serving nearly 100,000 scholars across 20 states and Washington, D.C. In Metro Atlanta, the network includes nine schools—four primary schools, four middle schools, and one high school—alongside the KIPP Through College Program, which supports students on their journey “to and through” college.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Atlanta, GA, for a K-8 Instructional Literacy Coach at KIPP Atlanta Schools. The Literacy Coach will collaborate with teachers to strengthen literacy instruction across grades K-8. Responsibilities include supporting educators in implementing curriculum effectively, providing individual and group coaching, facilitating professional development, analyzing data to drive instructional decisions, and supporting teachers to improve learning outcomes for students. The coach will also work closely with leadership teams to align literacy goals with broader school objectives.
- Expertise in Literacy and Education principles, including best practices for teaching reading, writing, and comprehension
- Skills in Curriculum Development to design and implement literacy programs tailored to K-8 students
- Proven experience and effectiveness in Coaching educators to improve instruction and student outcomes
- Strong background in Educational Leadership with the ability to guide teams toward achieving academic objectives
- Adaptability and a commitment to serving students in diverse and underserved communities
- Experience working with K-8 grade levels in an educational setting
- Master’s degree in Education, Literacy, or a related field (preferred)
- Proficiency in analyzing and leveraging student performance data to inform decisions
