Elementary Administrative Assistant
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and personable Elementary Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of our elementary school. This role serves as the first point of contact for visitors, students, parents, and staff, while providing essential administrative and clerical support to ensure an efficient and welcoming school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist all visitors, ensuring proper sign-in and sign-out procedures are followed
- Manage student attendance, including tardy slips and daily lunch counts
- Perform general clerical duties such as scheduling, copying, faxing, and distributing mail
- Assist with the preparation, printing, and mailing of report cards and student test results
- Maintain organized and accurate student records, including processing requests for transferring students
- Support communication between students, staff, and families as needed
- Maintain office equipment and workspaces, including restocking supplies and resolving minor equipment issues (e.g., paper jams)
- Ensure the front office remains clean, organized, and operational throughout the day
- Administer delegated medications and serve as backup support for the district nurse.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional administrative or office training preferred
- Previous experience in an administrative or school office setting is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in basic office software and equipment
