Job Title: Intermediate Elementary Teacher (Grades 3–6)

Job Summary

The Intermediate Elementary Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, standards-based instruction to students in grades 3–5. This role focuses on developing students’ academic skills, critical thinking, and social-emotional growth in a supportive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum

• Plan and deliver lessons aligned with state standards in core subjects (Math, English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies)
• Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
• Integrate technology and hands-on activities to enhance learning
• Differentiate instruction for students with varying abilities

Assessment & Progress Monitoring

• Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments
• Analyze data to guide instruction and improve student outcomes
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents
• Maintain accurate records of student performance

Classroom Management

• Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
• Implement effective behavior management strategies
• Promote respect, responsibility, and collaboration among students

Student Development

• Support students’ social-emotional development
• Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and independence
• Recognize and respond to individual student needs

Collaboration & Communication

• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
• Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and administration
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events

Qualifications

Education & Certification

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education
• Valid state teaching license/certification for elementary education

Experience

• 2–5 years of teaching experience preferred
• Experience teaching intermediate elementary grades (3–6) is a plus

Work Environment

• Classroom-based setting in an elementary school
• May include supervision duties (recess, lunch, arrival/dismissal)
• Regular school hours with occasional after-school meetings or events

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
• Active engagement with students throughout the day

Salary : $43,000 - $66,000
