Staff Accountant – Tax and Assurance

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with assurance engagements, including compilations, reviews, audits, and related workpapers.
- Support preparation of individual, business, and entity tax returns.
- Work with senior staff and managers to gather client information, reconcile accounts, and resolve basic accounting issues.
- Learn firm processes, client service expectations, and documentation standards.
- Develop a practical “nuts and bolts” understanding of small and mid-sized business accounting needs.
- Support clients across industries, with construction-industry exposure considered valuable.
Ideal Background
- 0 year(s) of accounting, tax, assurance, internship, bookkeeping, or related experience.
- Accounting degree or active progress toward an accounting degree preferred.
- Smaller CPA firm, bookkeeping, or hands-on business accounting exposure preferred over narrow large-firm experience.
- Interest in both tax and assurance work.
- Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and comfort working in a collaborative office environment.
