Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Kitchen Manager to make delicious food for the staff and children at Kingdom Kids. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the delivery of exceptional food quality, maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness, and foster a positive team environment. The kitchen manager will ensure that all meals and snacks for the center are prepared and distributed to the students at the allotted time schedule.
Duties
- The kitchen manager will be responsible to turn in grocery list each week of all ingredients and supplies needed. The kitchen manager will collect these items from the store on Monday.
- The Kitchen Manager will make monthly Menu for the center that follows all KDHE requirements.
- The Kitchen Manager will be responsible to practice sanitary methods of food handling and storage.
- The Kitchen Manager will be responsible to clean all of the cooking and baking pots, pans, and dishes for the Center.
- The Kitchen Manager will work in conjunction with the Program Director to establish continuity with the “Themes” for the center when applicable so that the learning environment can carry from the classroom to the meals and snacks.
- The Kitchen Manager will make sure that the Kitchen is clean at the end of each workday and that all of the cooking and baking pots and pans are put in their proper cupboards before leaving for the day. This also includes all of the dishes so that the kitchen is ready to use so that the next group of people who come to the church to use the kitchen do not have any messes to clean up or dishes to put away. This would include the refrigerator, stoves and ovens are cleaned as needed and regularly.
- The Kitchen Manager will be responsible to label and date all foods that have not been discarded.
- The Kitchen Manager will be responsible to have knowledge of and adhere to all of the children’s special needs including allergies and special dietary needs.
- The Kitchen Manager will be responsible to have knowledge of and adhere to the portion requirements for each age group.
- The kitchen Manager will manage and distribute laundry.
Skills
- Proven experience as cook
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work as a team
- Very good communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
