JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Imports Coordinator position handles and arranges the customs clearance in all USA ports for all merchandise.
Essential Functions
- Prepare vessel documentation required by law to release and deliver containers.
- Coordinate ACE transmissions and corrections.
- Transmit ACE vessel arrivals and departures from all ports.
- Prepare and transmit all vessel stow plans.
- Communicate with origins regarding NB freight transactions.
- Post all NB Bill of Ladings.
- Coordinate and distribute arrival notices for each vessel.
- Provide customer service to all incoming phone calls regarding Vessel operations, arrivals, departures, Customs regulations, and USDA Agricultural inspections.
- Analyze and investigate client concerns/ operational issues over any discrepancy in order to provide excellent customer service.
- Coordinate all CBP/ AG/ USDA/ VACIS/ FREEZONE appointments.
- Coordinate Fumigation appointments.
- Create & collect invoices for all local additional charges.
- Coordinate transshipment cargo with origin and destinations.
- Follow up with outside Carriers/ Slot Charters for vessel operations and availability of containers.
- Work with accounting and collections to receive/ post NB freight payments.
- Prepare and send any vessel/ operational memos on an as needed basis.
- Communicate with customers for their delivery orders and instructions.
- Schedule all pick up and deliveries of NB full & empty equipment.
- Follow up with trucking company to ensure timely delivery to destinations including local and intermodal.
- Provide customers with PODs to meet client's requests.
- Review and finalize the CBP "General Order" Notices. Review with customers that have freight close to G.O. deadlines.
- Assist Northbound Sales department as needed.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and standard hours of work Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. through 5:30 PM. Rotating nights/ weekends will be required.
Travel

Required Education and Experience
- Three to five years of experience in an Imports Department or similar positions
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree.
- Knowledge of customs regulations
- HAZMAT certified
