About The SaFE Ambassador Pilot Program

As part of Metro's SaFE Reform Initiative, the SaFE Ambassador Pilot Program places Ambassadors in temporary 6-month roles focused on providing in-person customer service at Metro Transit Centers and bus stops. Ambassadors assist riders and Transit Operators with wayfinding, fare questions, and service requests—helping to create a more accessible, welcoming, and responsive transit experience.

The SaFE Ambassador Leads support daily operations, coordinate coverage, and guide the Ambassador training and onboarding efforts. In addition, Metro Transit is deeply committed to supporting each Ambassador’s professional growth. Through mentorship, skill-building opportunities, and hands-on experience, the program is also designed to help prepare Ambassadors for future career opportunities—both within Metro and beyond. Together, this team plays a key role in shaping a more people-centered approach to transit service.
