Position Summary
The Quality Assistant supports daily quality assurance and control activities within a manufacturing environment, ensuring all processes meet established standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality objectives. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to maintain compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement across all quality-related processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all manufacturing and production processes are performed in accordance with approved work instructions and quality standards.
- Execute quality-related activities associated with receiving inspection, work order execution, inventory management, and sales/shipping.
- Perform quality system processes in accordance with documented procedures, including Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), Complaints, Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMRs), Supplier Reviews, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Inspections, and Device History Records (DHRs).
- Maintain tooling, gauges, and inspection equipment in compliance with calibration and maintenance schedules.
- Review and recommend improvements to work instructions, processes, and documentation to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Support maintenance of product documentation files, including Risk Management Files, Design History Files (DHFs), and regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with quality engineers and production personnel to ensure compliance with internal and external quality requirements.
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned to support the Quality Management System (QMS).
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality assurance environment.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or FDA-regulated environments a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint; experience with computer skills and applications.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Schedule & Flexibility
This is a temporary on-site role based in Wilmington, MA. The position offers flexibility with start and end times—core hours are 10 AM – 4 PM, with the option to begin between 9–10 AM and finish around 5 PM. The client can accommodate 30–40 hours per week, either across four or five days.
