What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Finance position at King & Bishop?
Our client, a well-respected and Global manufacturer, is seeking a Director of Finance to oversee all of North America as well as work in one or two other countries. This role leads a large team and it the representative, working with the Leadership Team frequently, and sometimes the Board.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a business partner to the regional functional leaders to drive results and long-term strategy.
- Direct oversight of working capital performance, costing, and financial structures across North America.
- Lead annual planning, budgeting, and rolling forecasts with FP&A and regional leadership.
- Provide leadership and governance for timely, accurate reporting to support better decision-making.
- Drive cost structure improvements and process efficiency.
- Oversee monthly close (targeting a 3-day close) in partnership with global finance.
- Ensure compliance with policies, controls, and regulatory requirements (domestic and international).
- Lead, hire, and develop a high-performing finance team.
Must-Haves
- Extensive costing expertise – annual product costing, new product costing, variance analysis, and cost control.
- Strong accounting foundation – US GAAP, audit, and statutory requirements.
- Hands-on leader – willing to “roll up sleeves” while mentoring and developing a finance team.
- ERP expertise – Oracle experience is preferred.
- Comfort with international exposure – cross-border accounting, IFRS familiarity.
Nice-to-Have
- Spanish language skills.
- Experience with M&A finance integration.
- Background in documenting and modernizing legacy financial processes.
