About the Position
The Heavy Highway Project Manager will be responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of major infrastructure projects from pre-construction through final closeout. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep expertise in DOT standards and a proven ability to deliver large-scale projects on time and within budget.
The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of project performance, including scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management, and client communication. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring operational success while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across both public and private sectors.
Project scope includes highway widening and infrastructure work involving self-perform excavation, embankment, storm drainage, waterline installation, crushed stone placement, and blasting.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in heavy highway construction project management
Project Experience
- Proven success managing DOT highway and infrastructure projects
- Experience managing projects ranging from $20M to $100M
- Strong background in self-perform work including excavation, grading, drainage, and utilities
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in construction management software such as HCSS, Primavera P6, Procore, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, and contract management
Leadership & Communication
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Strong communication abilities with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
