The Role:
The Accounting Manager will lead Killer Brownie’s internal accounting function, manage one staff accountant and oversee the transition of key accounting processes from our third-party provider to in-house operations. This role will also serve as the permission owner and co-admin for Killer Brownie’s NetSuite ERP, ensuring the system is optimized as a financial and operational tool for the entire company. As part of the Business Operations team, the Accounting Manager will collaborate cross-functionally to maintain data integrity, streamline workflows, and support company-wide adoption of ERP best practices. Here's What You’ll Do:
Financial Operations
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Manage general ledger accounting, including prepaids, expense accruals, fixed assets, investments, intercompany transactions, bank reconciliations, and loans.
- Ensure timely payment of invoices and proper vendor setup.
- Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with US GAAP.
- Prepare and review financial reports; provide ad-hoc financial metrics as needed.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and reporting to leadership.
- Collaborate with 3rd party accounting team to migrate accounting responsibilities in-house, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Design and implement streamlined accounting processes, tools, and systems for Killer Brownie.
ERP Ownership & Internal Controls
- Serve as co-admin for NetSuite ERP, managing user roles and permissions in collaboration with the IT team to maintain financial internal controls and policies.
- Oversee ERP configuration and ensure alignment with financial and operational processes, partnering with IT for troubleshooting issues or implementing enhancements.
- Train and support internal teams on ERP functionality and best practices.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements in coordination with external advisors.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze, recommend, and execute process changes for continual improvement.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks and enhance accuracy and effectiveness.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects that improve financial visibility and operational efficiency.
- Supervise and mentor the staff accountant, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all accounting tasks.
- Provide coaching, development opportunities, and performance feedback.
- Work closely with leadership and other departments to support company goals and strategic initiatives.
Here’s What You Should Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.
- 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred), including user administration and configuration.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

This role will report directly to our Senior Director of Business Operations.
Location: This position will work out of our office in Miamisburg, OH. This role is onsite, as we highly value our in-person together time, especially at the senior leadership levels.
