Key Responsibilities
Promote a safety-first culture by enforcing all workplace safety rules and conducting regular safety audits.
Interview, hire, train, and develop maintenance team members.
Assign and direct work, conduct performance appraisals, and provide coaching and recognition.
Address team member concerns and resolve operational issues effectively.
Oversee the Preventative Maintenance Plan, ensuring all equipment and procedures are documented and followed.
Supervise completion of preventative maintenance tasks by technicians.
Manage CMMS (Limble), ensuring accurate data entry, reporting, and system optimization.
Lead troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain organized workspaces and tool inventories.
Manage facility maintenance including HVAC/R coil cleaning, lighting, plumbing, and general upkeep.
Inspect equipment and facilities for safety hazards, damage, or wear.
Direct contractors and ensure quality and compliance of outsourced work.
Lead equipment acquisition and implementation projects from planning to installation.
Interpret and apply schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
Set and monitor metrics for critical and non-critical equipment performance.
Manage spare parts inventory and procurement processes.
Assist in developing and managing the maintenance budget.
Participate in capital expenditure planning to support increased throughput and operational efficiency.
Analyze maintenance incidents and implement long-term solutions to reduce downtime.
Coordinate with other departments to align maintenance activities with production schedules.
Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, including leadership and frontline teams.
Recommend and implement training programs for maintenance and production teams.
Track and improve KPIs such as equipment uptime, PM completion rate, and maintenance response time.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards, including documentation, sanitation, and equipment integrity.
Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate records and ensuring readiness of maintenance-related documentation.
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address food safety risks related to equipment and facility conditions.
Implement corrective actions for non-conformances related to food safety and maintenance.
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment (food industry preferred).
Minimum 5 years of management experience.
Experience with PLCs, refrigeration systems, or welding (preferred).
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and compressed air systems.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to interpret technical documentation, schematics, and manuals.
Physical ability to lift 20–50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform manual tasks.
Comfortable working in varying temperatures (hot/cold, indoor/outdoor).
Strong verbal and written communication skills – ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in fast-paced settings.
Certifications such as OSHA 30, HVAC, electrical license, or Lean Six Sigma (preferred).
