Responsibilities
- Supervise children attentively, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom or childcare environment
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress and daily experiences
- Follow mandated reporting laws to report any concerns related to child safety or welfare
- Assist with diapering, feeding, nap times, and other daily routines in accordance with best practices
- Apply child development instruction techniques to support individual learning needs and behavioral management
- Use classroom management strategies to foster positive behavior and encourage cooperation among children
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or similar settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages
- Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) is required; ongoing training encouraged
- Familiarity with special education needs and experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
- Strong communication skills for effective parent interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare
- Passion for teaching young children and supporting their growth through engaging activities
