Duties
- Supervise and care for infants during the closing hours, ensuring their safety, comfort, and engagement at all times
- Lead classroom management by organizing activities that promote childhood development and sensory exploration
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's day, progress, and any concerns, building trusting relationships
- Implement health and safety protocols, including pediatric first aid and CPR, to respond swiftly to emergencies
- Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, developmental milestones, and incident reports in compliance with mandated reporting laws
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth transition between shifts and uphold high standards of childcare quality
- Support team training on special education needs, behavior management strategies, and inclusive caregiving practices
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, infant care techniques, and classroom management strategies
- Certification in first aid and CPR (pediatric first aid preferred)
- Familiarity with special education practices and experience working with children with disabilities is a plus
- Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to supervise children effectively while maintaining a nurturing environment
- Experience with behavior management techniques and caregiving responsibilities such as nannying or babysitting is advantageous
- Commitment to adhering to mandated reporting laws and maintaining confidentiality in all interactions
- Must have CDA or meet DCFS requirements to be a Lead Teacher
