Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Teacher to nurture and guide our 2-year-old learners. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for implementing curriculum plans tailored to toddlers’ unique needs, ensuring safety and well-being, and building strong relationships with children and their families. Duties

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum focused on early childhood education principles, including literacy, math, physical activity, and social skills.
• Create a safe, nurturing classroom environment that promotes exploration, learning, and positive behavior management.
• Plan and execute daily lesson plans that incorporate hands-on activities, sensory play, and developmental milestones for 2-year-olds.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about each child's progress, behavior, and developmental achievements through meetings or written updates.
• Monitor child development closely to identify individual needs related to special education or early intervention services.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and incident reports in compliance with mandated reporting laws.
• Supervise classroom assistants or support staff to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality care and education.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings, especially with toddlers aged 2 years old.
• Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, curriculum development, and classroom management strategies.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing training in child welfare and safety protocols is preferred.
• Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, and behavior management techniques.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and community resources.
• Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
• Knowledge of mandated reporting laws to ensure compliance with legal requirements related to child safety.
• Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
• Must have CDA or College credits to meet DCFS requirement to be a lead teacher.
