Duties
- Assist experienced HVAC technicians with installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to support troubleshooting efforts
- Use hand tools, electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters, and other mechanical equipment to diagnose issues and perform repairs
- Support mechanical systems repair tasks ensuring proper operation of HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Help troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical components within HVAC units using diagnostic procedures
- Maintain accurate service records, logs, and reports for all work performed while adhering to safety standards and regulations including EPA certification requirements
Experience
- Construction experience or prior exposure to building maintenance is highly desirable
- Service technician experience in HVAC or related fields such as appliance repair or property maintenance is a plus
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical systems, plumbing, and refrigeration systems enhances your effectiveness in this role
- Mechanical knowledge gained through mechanic experience or technical training supports your ability to troubleshoot complex systems
- Ability to operate hand tools confidently and follow detailed instructions accurately
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (e.g.,
driver) is required for field service tasks - Prior experience with building automation systems or electrical diagnostics is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
