Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. This full-time role involves maintaining, repairing, and installing HVAC systems across various commercial and residential properties. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience in service and field operations, and familiarity with HVAC design and schematics. A valid driver’s license is required to facilitate on-site visits and equipment transport. Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), and related mechanical equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to ensure accurate system installation and repairs.
- Perform equipment repairs using tools such as ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other diagnostic devices.
- Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC units to optimize performance and extend lifespan.
- Diagnose issues related to refrigeration, plumbing, or mechanical failures within HVAC systems.
- Assist with the installation of new systems following safety standards and building codes.
- Use field service skills to respond promptly to service calls and client requests across multiple locations.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic within the HVAC/R industry; construction or property maintenance background is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair, HVAC design, schematics reading, and system troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is preferred.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems related to HVAC installations.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment safely.
- Experience with boiler operation and maintenance is desirable.
- Field service experience with a focus on appliance repair or property maintenance is advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license (preferably
driver) for travel between job sites. - Additional skills such as welding, boiler operation, or mechanic experience are considered beneficial.
