RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client seeking an exciting entry level opportunity for a GIS Analyst I in Evansville, Indiana. The role is onsite, with potential to work remote Fridays once training is fully completed.
Summary:
The main function of a GIS Analyst is to perform computer applications and/or database design, development, and implementation services for utilization of Geographic Information System (GIS) technology. This person supports the GIS environment, policies and procedures, standards, and the accuracy and consistency of the GIS information. The manager is seeking a reliable and consistent worker with strong communication skills. Candidates should have experience using GIS software, but there will be front-end training to get them up to speed on team processes.
Job Responsibilities:
* Research, develop, program, and manage GIS tools, applications, and interfaces
* Develop, maintain, and support all spatial data systems' hardware and software
* Develops and presents GIS system and cartographic mapping elements, integrates elements with other technology for marketing and web-based communication
* Transpose complex data from records maps, CAD drawings, land base maps, demographic models and economic resources and other source documents into GIS related database
* Produce maps, provide web-based mapping support, develop spatial and non-spatial databases, and provide technical support to other users
REQUIREMENTS:
* Educational background/certification in GIS, Geography, Computer Science or a related field
* 0-2 years of experience required
* Experience with GIS software such as ESRI, AutoDesk, Bentley, Integraph, ArcGIS Pro (highly preferred), etc.
* Experience with Microsoft Office
* Strong understanding of geographic concepts
* Proficiency in computer systems, applications, and database software
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
