Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant in Newington, CT. Responsibilities:

• Staff Accountant will perform monthly financial closings and prepare journal entries
• Support financial reporting to corporate and external stakeholders
• Maintain and monitor general ledger and accounting records
• Manage cash flow and perform bank reconciliations
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and regional operations
• As a Staff Accountant, you will ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
• Conduct financial analysis and support special accounting projects
• Monitor inventory and capital expenditures
• Prepare and file applicable tax reports and ensure timely payments
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
