Kforce has a client seeking a Senior iOS Engineer in Miami, FL. Duties:
- Design and implement modern iOS features using SwiftUI as the primary UI framework, following Apple platform best practices
- Maintain and evolve existing UIKit based code, including view controllers, navigation flows, and Auto Layout, while incrementally modernizing toward SwiftUI where appropriate
- Make sound architectural decisions around state management, data flow, navigation, and modularity, balancing modern approaches with legacy constraints
- Collaborate closely with product, design, backend, and architecture partners to translate complex requirements into reliable, intuitive mobile experiences
- Execute on product and technical roadmaps using agile, sprint based development, consistently delivering well tested, production ready features
- Collaborate on development hygiene, including code quality, automated testing, documentation, and adherence to Apple Human Interface Guidelines
- Refactor and improve legacy components, frameworks, and patterns with a focus on maintainability, performance, and testability
- Build proof of concepts and prototypes to evaluate new SwiftUI patterns, Apple frameworks, or architectural approaches
- Leverage AI coding agents and agentic software development tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, explore design alternatives, and assist with refactoring and test generation
- Actively participate in code reviews and technical discussions, contributing to a high bar for engineering excellence across the iOS codebase
- Proven ability to work effectively in hybrid SwiftUI/UIKit codebases, supporting legacy implementations while driving incremental modernization
- Strong understanding of common iOS architecture patterns (e.g. MVC, MVVM, Clean Architecture) and practical experience applying them at scale
- Experience integrating iOS apps with REST and/or GraphQL APIs, including robust networking layers, error handling, caching, and offline considerations
- Proficiency with Git and modern collaborative workflows (pull requests, code reviews, branching strategies)
- Demonstrated experience writing testable iOS code, including unit and integration tests using XCTest or similar frameworks
- Familiarity with iOS CI/CD pipelines, including automated builds, testing, and distribution (e.g. TestFlight, Bitrise)
- Strong understanding of iOS security best practices, including authentication flows, secure networking, Keychain usage, data protection, and privacy
- Experience using AI coding assistants or autonomous/agentic development tools to support design, implementation, refactoring, testing, and documentation
- Comfort owning complex technical areas in a long lived, evolving codebase, making pragmatic trade-offs, and delivering reliable solutions in production environments
- Demonstrates strong ownership of critical challenges, actively engaging at all levels and beyond iOS boundaries to solve hard problems, drive outcomes, and unblock teams
