Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Halethorpe, MD. Duties Include:
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting functions
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits
- Review balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Develop and improve accounting processes, controls, and documentation
- Mentor and support junior accounting staff
- Collaborate with management to provide financial insights and recommendations
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's preferred)
- CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
