Kforce has a client in Washington, DC that is seeking a Manager of Restricted Accounts that oversees the accounting and reporting of restricted funds, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong financial controls. This role plays a key part in managing complex accounting matters, supporting financial reporting, and partnering with stakeholders across the organization. Responsibilities:

This role plays a key part in managing complex accounting matters, supporting financial reporting, and partnering with stakeholders across the organization. Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounting, monitoring, and reporting of restricted funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Manage the monthly close process and support ongoing reporting requirements
- Apply technical accounting guidance for contributions and restricted transactions
- Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Prepare and review journal entries and general ledger activity
- Monitor spending to ensure alignment with applicable restrictions
- Partner with internal stakeholders to address questions and resolve issues
- Investigate discrepancies and drive process improvements for efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with auditors and support audit and reporting activities
- Operate independently, exercising sound judgment in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or similar certification is a plus
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership exposure
- Background in public accounting or audit preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Self-starter who can work independently and meet deadlines with confidence
- Strong foundation in accounting and financial reporting, with experience navigating complex environments
- Hands-on expertise in general ledger, revenue recognition, and financial analysis
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams while fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment
- Skilled communicator who can build relationships and influence across all levels of an organization
- Analytical thinker with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
- Consistent track record of delivering high-quality, accurate work with clear documentation
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and present data effectively
- Experience working with enterprise financial systems (e.g., large ERP platforms)
