Kforce's client, a leading produce wholesaler based in the Bronx, NY, is seeking a Director of Human Resources. Summary: This company serves a diverse client base across the region. With over 400 employees and continued growth, they operate in a fast-paced, logistics-driven environment. As they expand, they are formalizing their HR function to strengthen compliance, scalability, and employee engagement. This experienced, hands-on Director of Human Resources will build and lead their HR function. This is a new role created to provide strategic direction, ensure compliance, and support our company's next stage of growth. Key Responsibilities:
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

This experienced, hands-on Director of Human Resources will build and lead their HR function. This is a new role created to provide strategic direction, ensure compliance, and support our company's next stage of growth. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Design and implement scalable HR systems, policies, and processes
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning, budgeting, and organizational design
- Lead and mentor a capable HR team to deliver operational excellence and strategic impact
- Foster a strong, positive, and performance-driven workplace culture
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on employee relations, engagement, and talent strategy
- Proven experience as an HR leader in compliance, employee relations, and HR operations
- Strong track record of implementing and managing HRIS platforms (UKG experience preferred)
- Financial acumen with comfort in budgeting and workforce cost planning
- Analytical, data-driven mindset paired with high emotional intelligence
- Background in unionized, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environments strongly preferred
- Ability to connect with teams across all levels-from warehouse and logistics to sales and administration

Salary : $150,000 - $175,000
