Kforce has a client in Saint Louis, MO that is seeking a Project Cost Manager. Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with project goals and financial objectives
- Track and control project costs throughout the project lifecycle to maintain budget accuracy
- Establish cost baselines and regularly update forecasts to anticipate variances and ensure project financial health
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all project expenditures, ensuring full compliance with internal policies
- Perform cost variance analysis to identify discrepancies between planned and actual spending, and work with project teams to address budget overruns or inefficiencies
- Support financial forecasting efforts and refine cost estimates based on actual projectperformance and trends
- Review invoices to ensure costs, both internal and external, are coded correctly to the appropriate projects and accounted for accurately as capital expenditures (CapEx) or operating expenses (OpEx)
- Work closely with project leads to review details of project vendor invoices, ensuring the work was performed as agreed and goods or services were received before approval for payment
- Prepare timely and accurate project cost reports, providing insights into project financial performance and highlighting key cost drivers
- Communicate financial data to project managers, senior management, and sponsors, translating complex information into clear, concise insights
- Develop and deliver presentations on project cost status, forecasts and ROI performance to project sponsors and executive leadership
- Assess and report on whether project ROI goals were met by analyzing cost-benefit data, project outcomes, and financial performance
- Conduct variance analysis between targeted and actual ROI, providing actionable insights and recommendations for future project improvements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- 7-10 years of experience in project cost control, financial planning, or project accounting, ideally within a development or project-based environment
- Strong understanding of project cost control principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Netsuite
- Excellent analytical skills, with a focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders clearly
- Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
