Summary: The Consumer Loan Processor is responsible for reviewing, processing, and coordinating consumer loan applications from initial submission through funding. This role ensures that loan files are complete, accurate, and compliant with company policies, regulatory requirements, and lending guidelines while providing exceptional customer service throughout the lending process. Responsibilities include reviewing documentation, verifying borrower information, coordinating with members/customers and internal teams, and supporting timely loan closings and funding activities. Key Responsibilities:
- Review consumer loan applications for completeness and accuracy
- Collect, verify, and evaluate supporting documentation, including income verification, identification, credit reports, and financial records
- Process approved consumer loan applications in accordance with established timelines and service level expectations
- Coordinate loan documentation, disclosures, and closing requirements
- Ensure loan files comply with internal policies, lending procedures, and applicable federal and state regulations
- Communicate with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and other stakeholders regarding loan status and outstanding requirements
- Maintain accurate loan records and update information within loan origination systems
- Resolve documentation discrepancies and obtain missing information to facilitate timely loan approval and funding
- Prepare loans for funding and ensure all required documents have been executed properly
- Provide outstanding customer service and support throughout the loan process
- Support cross-functional teams and contribute to operational efficiency and continuous process improvement initiatives
- 2-3 years of consumer lending experience
- Collections software experience in banking
- Excel experience
