Job Title: Commissioning Technician - PV Solar Systems
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commissioning Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our community photovoltaic (PV) solar systems, including rooftop, carports, and ground-mounted installations, are correctly commissioned and fully operational. This role is vital in delivering high-quality, efficient, and safe solar energy solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive commissioning tests and procedures on PV solar systems to verify correct installation and operation.
- Conduct electrical, mechanical, and performance tests on PV modules, inverters, wiring, and other system components.
- Document and report any issues or deviations found during the commissioning process and coordinate with installation teams to resolve them.
- Ensure all installations comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and quality assurance teams to develop and implement commissioning plans.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting during the commissioning phase to address any issues promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of commissioning activities, test results, and system performance.
- Train and guide installation teams on best practices for system commissioning and operation.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in PV solar systems.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in commissioning or a similar role, preferably in the PV solar industry.
- In-depth knowledge of PV solar systems, including rooftop, carport, and ground-mounted installations.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, safety regulations, and performance standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with testing and diagnostic tools for solar systems.
Work Environment:
- This position involves fieldwork at various installation sites, as well as some office work for documentation and reporting.
- Must be comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and move equipment as required.\
- Ability to travel 75-80% of the time is required
