We are looking for a Change Parts Engineer to join our team and support our growing operations.
Your mission
The Change Parts Engineer role is responsible for designing, evaluating, and processing change parts required for inspection systems while supporting project engineering activities.
You will ensure the accurate and timely development of change part layouts, bills of materials, and technical documentation, serving as a critical link between sales, engineering, manufacturing, and production to support order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
Change Part Evaluation & Design
- Evaluate customer requirements for machine formats (bottles/jars, configurations)
- Analyze machine history and serial data to define appropriate configurations
- Develop 2D layouts and BOMs using CAD tools
- Adapt or create designs based on geometry, speed, and machine constraints
- Reuse existing designs where possible to improve efficiency
Order Processing & Release
- Review incoming orders and pre-order evaluations
- Ensure correct specifications before release
- Release designs and documentation for manufacturing with high accuracy
- Coordinate with sourcing and manufacturing teams, including international suppliers
Testing & Validation
- Support testing of change parts (fit, alignment, vacuum testing)
- Assist validation and troubleshooting on complex configurations
- Identify and resolve design or manufacturing discrepancies
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, sales, applications, and manufacturing teams
- Validate system requirements and feasibility
- Support project engineering activities and technical documentation
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Maintain and structure design records, layouts, and BOMs
- Leverage internal systems and historical data
- Contribute to improving documentation and engineering processes
Continuous Improvement
- Improve workflows, tools, and design processes
- Adapt solutions for non-standard applications
- Support resolution of production or field issues
Your profile
- Associate’s degree in Engineering, Drafting, or related technical field preferred
- CAD/drafting experience required
- 1–5 years of experience in drafting, mechanical design, or manufacturing support preferred
- Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD or similar, 2D layouts)
- Ability to develop and interpret BOMs and engineering drawings
- Understanding of mechanical systems and machine configurations
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, assembly)
- Knowledge of ERP/CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, SharePoint)
