What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Product Engineer position at KESTREL Vision?
We are looking for an Industrial Product Engineer to support the transition of products from design to production.
You will play a key role in ensuring products are fully manufacturable, industrialized, and production-ready, while maintaining accurate and reliable product data across PLM and ERP systems.
Working at the interface of Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain, you will ensure smooth execution from design outputs to manufacturing reality.
Key responsibilities
Product industrialization & documentation
- Convert design outputs into manufacturing-ready documentation (BOMs, routings, work instructions)
- Ensure alignment with DFM / DFA principles
- Support prototype, pilot, and production builds
Data management & systems
- Maintain and manage accurate product data in PLM and ERP systems
- Ensure consistency between engineering and manufacturing data
Cross-functional coordination
- Coordinate closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and aligned with industrial capabilities
Risk management & industrial readiness
- Identify and mitigate industrialization and supply chain risks
- Support supplier selection and oversee prototype / pre-series builds
- Ensure product configurations are aligned with manufacturing constraints
Change management & continuous improvement
- Evaluate engineering changes (ECR / ECO) in terms of cost, lead time, and production impact
- Contribute to cost tracking and improvement initiatives
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related)
- 5 years of experience in industrialization, NPI, or manufacturing/product engineering
- Experience with PLM and/or ERP systems
- Strong understanding of BOMs, routings, and technical drawings
Key skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong cross-functional communication skills
Nice to have
- Experience with complex or configurable products (high-mix / low-volume environments)
