PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct market and competitive research to identify emerging trends, consumer needs, and opportunities within the pet products industry.
- Analyze consumer insights and marketplace data to support product and marketing innovation initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for new products, enhancements, and solutions that deliver value to pets and pet parents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Sales, R&D, and Product Development, to evaluate and develop innovative concepts.
- Help build consumer empathy by researching how pet parents experience products today, including key challenges, needs, and aspirations.
- Support product innovation projects by investigating product claims, features, and market positioning.
- Assist in developing recommendations and presentations that inform innovation and business strategy.
- Coordinate with external agencies, research partners, and vendors while supporting additional innovation and market research projects as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working toward a degree in Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Psychology or Business with Marketing focus.
- Basic understanding of key marketing principles – completion of a minimum of two marketing related classes.
- Strong communication, analytical and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with conducting competitive or market analyses.
- Comfortable working independently when needed.
TRAVEL:
- Less than 5% travel is expected.
