Position Summary
Create a safe, welcoming, and motivating fitness environment by supporting members, maintaining equipment, promoting cleanliness, and delivering exceptional hospitality throughout the Fitness Center.
Fitness Attendants build relationships with members while protecting the safety, cleanliness, and professional atmosphere of Henderson Sport & Social's Fitness Center. They create an environment where members feel motivated, supported, and excited to return every day because great fitness centers aren't defined by their equipment, they're defined by the relationships built within them.

- Maintains a clean, organized, and fully operational Fitness Center.

- Maintains accurate opening, closing, and equipment inspection procedures.
- Supports teammates and other departments whenever appropriate and within the scope of training.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Member Experience
- Welcome members and guests with a friendly, professional attitude while creating a positive first impression.
- Build relationships with members by learning names whenever possible, understanding fitness goals, and providing exceptional hospitality.
- Conduct facility orientations and demonstrate the proper use of fitness equipment for new members.
- Answer questions regarding the Fitness Center, memberships, and facility amenities while referring membership sales opportunities to the Membership Sales Manager when appropriate.
- Anticipate member needs and provide assistance whenever possible to create an exceptional fitness experience.
Fitness Center Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready Fitness Center by wiping equipment, organizing weights, monitoring locker rooms, and restocking supplies throughout the day.
- Complete daily opening and closing procedures, equipment inspections, and operational checklists.
- Report maintenance concerns promptly and remove unsafe equipment from service until repairs can be completed.
- Monitor equipment usage and ensure members follow facility policies and safe operating procedures.
- Support the overall presentation of the Fitness Center to ensure it consistently reflects Henderson Sport & Social's standards.
Safety & Risk Management
- Promote a safe fitness environment by identifying and addressing unsafe behavior, equipment concerns, or facility hazards.
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies by utilizing CPR, AED, and First Aid training when necessary.
- Complete incident reports accurately and communicate safety concerns to the Fitness Manager immediately.
- Maintain current knowledge of facility emergency procedures and support Henderson Sport & Social Emergency Action Plans when needed.
Teamwork & Guest Service
- Support Guest Services, Child Watch, Sports, or other departments whenever operationally appropriate and within the scope of training.
- Assist with facility events, member appreciation activities, and special programming as assigned.
- Represent Henderson Sport & Social professionally during every interaction while promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, and exceptional service.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events based on business needs.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification required (training may be provided).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude with a passion for health, fitness, and hospitality.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
- Fitness Center operations
- Customer service or hospitality
- Personal training or group fitness
- Exercise science or kinesiology
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
- Previous experience working in a health club, recreation center, or family entertainment facility
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, push, and pull for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.
- Demonstrate the safe operation of fitness equipment and assist members with proper equipment usage.
- Maintain a professional appearance while working throughout guest-facing areas of the facility.
